"Quang Nam Tourism 2006" must be typical and original. This goal was put forth by Quang Nam provincial leaders after the Prime Minister chose 2006 as Quang Nam Tourism Year.

This event is a good chance for the Quang Nam tourism industry to boom. In preparation for the important celebration, Vice President of Quang Nam provincial people's committee, Tran Minh Ca recently chaired a meeting with tourism sector leaders, tourism enterprises, travel agencies and locals to announce plans, as well as discuss ideas on "Quang Nam Tourism 2006".

The event is planned to open on February 11th 2006 in 3 main sites including the ancient township of Hoi An, My Son heritage area and Chu Lai open economic zone. Other programs will be held in different locales throughout 2006.

"Quang Nam Tourism 2006 is an important event for Vietnam’s tourist industry', affirmed Mr Ca. Tourism activities are not only organized in different locales in Quang Nam, but also held in cooperation with other provinces and cities like Hanoi and HCM city. This is beneficial for Quang Nam to boost tourism promotion to key markets both domestically and internationally. It should also attract investments in science and technology in the region.

Quang Nam provincial leaders have directed related entities and locales to make preparations in infrastructure, content and organization procedures with the view to luring visitors. All activities must be professional and linked to promotion and propagation; to help Quang Nam obtain the goal of  the country's tourism center.
